Even though nail salon visits are currently on hiatus, nail inspiration has flooded our feeds. Perhaps with their forties, people had a growing thirst for extravagance and what more than a fabulously intricate art at their fingertips. In 2021, nail art is definitely a must have, every Instagram model and blogger is rocking the look and you can follow the trend as well. While waiting patiently for the salons to reopen on April 12, here are some trendy nail art looks that you can recreate at home with a few basic tools and a little determination.

Animal prints, in general, are all the rage in the fashion and beauty world, and the cow print reigns supreme among them, which is perfect as it just might be the easiest to recreate at home in the form of of nail art. To create the look, apply a black or white base and create imperfect specs in the opposite color, and There!

While Valentine’s Day may be long gone, heart nail art is not going anywhere, and in a practical way it is quite easy to achieve. After applying a base coat, use a cotton swab to create two dots next to each other and then connect them at the bottom to achieve this adorable look.

  1. Flowers

Large flower prints are going to be huge in the coming season and you can keep up with the trend by creating flowers on your nails using a bobby pin. Use soft pinks, yellows and whites for a cottage look or bright, vibrant colors for a cheerful 70s look.

Many of us have too much nail polish to count and here’s an idea for using your collection: paint each of your nails a different shade (or mix a base shade with increasing amounts of white to achieve an ombre effect) the more joyful you are and the clearer it is, the better. You can recycle the idea for other colors: browns are also very trendy this season.

  1. Ying yang

Ying Yang is both visually powerful and surprisingly easy to recreate at home, as it doesn’t have to be perfect to look good. Just use a cotton swab to help you create the design. It will of course look great in black and white, but to be really on trend, go for a colorful palette.

  1. Half half

Half and half, especially in the brightest colors imaginable, is incredibly easy to achieve and will look amazing no matter which color combination you choose. To get the look, just use some basic duct tape to help you create a clean line, it couldn’t be easier!
